So furious that she was tipped off about the raid. Dom Littlewood's confrontation with her at the station made good TV, I guess, but nothing came of it. I do hope she is still being pursued by TS, the Police etc. (I'm sure HMRC would be interested too! )
I thought the guy chasing after her at the train station shouting "you should be ashamed" was entirely pointless. She had agreed to an interview so why not go through with that?
Very disappointing to see that (apparently) she hasn't got into any trouble at all for what she's doing and is still selling puppies. At least now people will know who she is I suppose!!
It does highlight the fact that buyers have a responsibility to educate themselves and thoroughly vet the breeders they are considering buying from. Those puppies obviously weren't right or normal and the paperwork should have had major alarm bells ringing. Just a little bit of time spent researching the questions to ask could have saved those people a lot of heartache. Lets hope the programme has at least shocked people into putting more effort into finding GOOD breeders.
There is no excuse not to research these says having information at our finger tips. When we bought our first pedigree we did loads of research before we bought ours. It was many years ago and we contacted people by phone and word of mouth, bought books on the breed and went to see the puppies three times before we brought one home. The breeder asked questions about us. There is no excuse at all now for bad buying. Look and ask if things aren't right walk away.
Well there weren't your 'first choice' when it came to buying horses either. Evil people, this program only focuses on Louise but make no mistake Sean is still very much a part of this. I just hope that one day they catch up with her because so many horses and dogs have needlessly suffered at there hands. I bet when they do finally catch up with them they will just get a slap on the wrist.
I found it quite infuriating that the people who had bought the puppies clearly had absolutely no idea what a healthy puppy looks like.
Of course this woman should not be treating animals like this, but its up to the people buying these puppies to make sure they are healthy (quite obvious when the puppy has eye discharge, is lethargic, swollen belly etc), the right age (again its obvious, it only takes a little common sense to look up info on puppies before buying to know about teeth and sizes) and have had all appropriate health checks/vaccinations (I mean come on, a photocopy, really!).
It's so sad these poor puppies (and breeding dogs) are in this situation but if she is managing to sell 13+ puppies a day then there is clearly something wrong with a lack of education and knowledge.
Agree, it beggars belief that in this day and age with all the info to hand, people still think this is the way to buy a puppy.
As has been pointed out here before, you would at least to a bit of research when buying a new telly or mobile phone, but people are still rushing out and listening to the hard sell and not questioning anything until it is too late.
ALL puppies are cute, I've never seen an ugly one yet, but it is possibly the last reason on my list to buy a particular dog and a terrible FIRST reason to buy one but it often at the top of the sales pitch 'cute, adorable, bundle of fluff' - also, sick, lame, full of parasites and inherited illnesses. Look past the cute before you part with cash. Some of our best dogs have been ugly sods
Some people want puppies quickly, they aren't prepared to research and wait for the right dog. If they spot a designer cross which allegedly doesn't shed, they may well just get a farmed unhealthy puppy because they know no better.
I agree, it's the buyer's responsibility to NOT buy a sick, worm ridden badly bred pup, but it must be very difficult to walk away from a puppy farmed baby who's crying and looks cute.
Breeding for profit as opposed to bettering the breed or wanting a puppy for yourself is the ultimate in selfish stupid idiocy, IMO. The type of breeder featured ought to be banned from keeping any dogs.
I was just incredibly angry at the low life who tipped her off, wonder how many dogs were condemned to death by that scum.
I would have thought they could have set up their surveillance for longer and found out where those puppies were coming from and maybe they could have shut down a puppy farm.
