CPC Periodic Training - LGV

I need help! I have a 7.5ton horsebox that I use to transport my own event horse to events as a hobby, with no financial gain other than the possibility of a very small amount of prize money (if I'm lucky!). I am old enough not to have had to do a LGV test, but do I need to do the CPC Periodic training every 5 years - the first lot needing to be done by Sept 2014? I have had conflicting advice, one saying I don't, but the other saying that as there is a possibility of winning prize money (however small), I do need to. Surely this means that someone doing one hunter trial a year, where the first prize is £20 would need to do it - it's no different to what I'm doing. Can anyone help me? Thanking you in advance!

No you do not need it

Driver cpc is for those who drive LGVs commercially

You are driving a LGV privately
