My 11.1 weshie came back off loan as a companion about 4weeks ago, and the farrier had been out the day before and done his feet very nicely. Only issue being one of his front hooves had cracked (about a week or two prior to farrier coming as we visited him about a week before we picked him up).
He's now been back a while and I want to start hacking him out lightly and working him on the lunge to get some of the extra weight off him and give him something to do.
Will this just make the crack worse though? Is there something I should be doing about it? I don't want the crack to get any worse but I also think he really should be doing some exercise to loose a few pounds! xD
He's not shod at all (never needed to be, he generally has good feet) is on grass but gets two very small feeds a day containing a joint supplement & biotin.
