For all those who have followed Cracker's story from December when Wonkey Donkey appealed for a home for him before he went to the Hunt Kennels then I am pleased to announce that he now has a new home.

We went this afternoon to carry out a home check with a lovely lady who had been to meet Cracker last week and showed an interest in him. She passed the home check and we think it is the perfect home for Cracker.

As from next Saturday, Cracker will be learning to be a therapy pony and will be visiting nursing homes and care homes etc. Cracker absolutely loves attention and handles all situations superbly so we feel that he will take to having this new job very well. They will work with him very slowly and introduce him gradually into his job. They have another pony that already goes out to homes and this will be Cracker's new friend.

Will post more details about it when he goes. :)

Well done to those who helped turn this little pony's life around.

Oh fantastic I knew he'd find a fabulous new home just so brilliant that its been so quick! Im sure he will excel in his new home- enroute to Marzipan after a rather long journey with one lorry swap already done we stopped for the next swap over and he had an inhand walk/graze in which he kept trying to take me over to meet people! and was a delight with all of them. In particular he was an angel with a little tot and her nervous non-horsey grandad; totally chilled whilst she stroked him from her grandads arms he didn't budge an inch :D. Dont think he could have found a better suited home by the sounds of things :).

Oh wow, my eyes are leaking!

This makes me so happy, it's so fitting and wonderful that he's going to be a therapy horse :D :D
I'm sure he'll be such a good boy and....just fantastic :D :D :D :D

Thanks for letting us know :D
Big well done to everyone who has helped him :D

Thanks for the PM B_2_B I'd missed this

This is fantastic news, I'm sure everyone will love the little lad in his new role. I couldn't think of a better home for him.

Well done Hope Pastures, Wonkey Donkey and the relay team. I hope his new owners join and keep us informed of his progress.

I wonder if they have a website, I would like to see the work they do.

Thanks everyone.

Becca1305 - I remember being told about you having to wait with him and how chilled he was. He just takes everything in his stride and doesn't bat an eyelid. Perfect with the vet, perfect to groom and handle, he's a little star.

I'm not sure if his new owners will join but they've invited me to go and see him when he's started and we will also be visiting him to make sure he is okay, and obviously they will keep us informed of his progress.

Rockysmum no website but this is their facebook page. Its a relatively new business set up but with very experienced horse owners and lovely people. They have one pony that goes out now but want to lighten her load a bit and they've trained her up to do this too. They will take Cracker back to basics though and just see what he knows. They will also make it known that Cracker is a rescue and where he is from so it helps us with publicity too.
