Ok guys please help, I am desperately looking for a good quality comfort bridle with a wide crank noseband BUT NO FLASH with brass/gold coloured fittings in quality black leather in full size. Every bridle I find has a flash...and I hate them! Help?????????

Can you not just take the flash off and cut the little loop off?
Not ideal I know but my friend had to do this as she didn't need the flash and the little loop was annoying.

Only crank cavasson's I could find had a flash it appears to be the latest thing! I tool the flash off and used on my saddle as an emergency handle and got my local saddler to cut the loop off...sorry.

By biggest problem by far was find a plain bridle Havanna brown, no bling

The words Comfort Bridle and Crank cavesson seem to be a bit conflicting! Crank nosebands are definitely not comfortable for the horse.

depends how tight they get done up. I prefer mine as it has padding round the back of the nose and there is nowhere for it to pinch. I make sure I can fit a couple of fingers under the noseband once it is done up.

I have EXACTLY that, mine is a sabre cordoba: it has a split padded headpiece, so the noseband doesn't put pressure on the poll. brass fitting, and I got a NS tranz to match!

Chazza - my horse has a sensitive poll, so as he goes much better in this bridle than a 'normal' one, i assume it is more comfortable for him, and therefore is a comfort bridle!

he was quite head/ear shy before I got this bridle.

Gibsons Saddlery, Newmarket. I had the same problem - everything had a flash strap - and that's where I got mine with a plain cavesson noseband (they do crank or non-crank).Tel: 01638 662330

I have tried cutting the loop off one noseband but it doesn't look very nice!!! What is it with flash nosebands??? Every horse that's ever ridden suddenly needs a flash??? I use the crank mainly due to the extra padding as my girl is very fine skinned and I certainly don't need to clamp her mouth shut...saddlers are you listening!?

I spent ages looking for a black crank cavesson noseband, and I mean ages!!! Ingatestone saddlery, essex way I think, had a whole row of them, all sizes in black and brown and all the bridles to so it might be worth contacting them?
