Cranwell ODE report, the Godfrey horse is back in good books!!

Well a fab day! After probs we've had with the G horses stage fright, decided to do an unaff ODE to try and get him going again, and at least it wouldnt be recorded on his record... neednt have worried!!

Went to cranwell today to do their ODE, got there silly time this morning, walked course etc, nothing particularly scary but a few questions. Only half a mind on it as tbh didnt think would make it as far as XC!

Warmed up Dressage, did nice test, nothing world beating but ok, accurate and obedient. Put to back of mind to concentrate on the dreaded SJ, lovely big arena to jump in, with lots of Jump for Joy fillers and poles, so bright! but straight forward. Warmed up ok, one stop which he go told off for, went in and jumped, and did fab round with just one pole down (my faulkt for overriding, he ouldnt see what the fuss was about so obligingly steeplchased the fence!

) Then got back to lorry, and got dressage score.... 30.9!!!!

And in first place at that point!! No pressure then!!

ANyway, took him XC, he jogged all the way to the start, popped round everything NO probs at all, including a few tricky combos, and romped home with just 0.7 time penalties, caused by me missing the finish flags and having to circle back!!

Anyway, long agonising wait, and, WE WON!!! with a margin of 8 penalties....

Now got silly grin on face, and unbelievably chuffed with my beast! Hopefully onwards and upwards!!

Wicked! just what the doctor ordered. HUGE well done to both of you.

Now the fun starts again, sounds like Godders has his confidence restored, and this has given you a real boost.

Oh thats fantastic!!! Well Done!!!! Im glad he's gotten over the stage fright and now he knows how much fun it is!! (my horse was exactly the same)

Lol!! Going to do a few more SJ comps first just to make sure, and then hopefully a load of BE's planned at end of season....

Was it on an arena? Maybe it is out on grass he gets the stage fright.

Do you have an Intro booked up now? Yu must be so excited now!
 
Thanks, yep was in an arena, I dont think it is anything to do with the surface or fences tbh, i thinks its the business and activity outside the arena he finds difficult. We will get there. No intro booked at mo, still not sure what the ground is doing, and want to make sure he is 100% confident again, i'm in no hurry, he is for ME, so prefer to take it slowly now and keep it going in the right direction!!
