Me and my OH are now the proud owners of a short legged, miniture tan and white Jack russell bitch named Bella
She is beautiful, and has already picked up toilet training at 8 1/2 weeks old (we still have the odd accident but only about 1 a day now!).
We are crate training her, which is proving difficult. She craves mine and my OH's attention and she cries even when we are still in the room with her and she is in her crate. We've made it really homely, feed her in there so she associates it with a happy place, she is never put in there as a punishment and we play with her in there so she doesn't feel too isolated. Is she just too young? She sleeps in there at night and, after about 10 minutes of crying, she falls to sleep and sleeps through till about 6am (when we take her outside for the toilet- and then when she comes back in she will NOT settle back in the crate!). She isn't scared of her crate whatsoever, she just hates not being with us. She is only left for about an hour and a half a day- should we increase this so she isn't spending too much time with us and gets used to being alone?
She needs the crate by the way, our landlord said we can only have a dog if it goes in a crate when we aren't around which is fair enough!
Anyway here are some pics of Bella
