Crate training

We are trying to crate train our 9 week old pup she will happily go in on her own, will sleep in there when she feels like it, we have not as yet shut her in, she has also weed and messed in there, gone in to do it, so If we shut her in will she just wee in there when she needs to go rather than holding on and going when let out?
