I've been crate training my dogs, there is a small possibility that we will have carers in the house after June, they are doing really well. I have two extra large crates and my dogs are jack russel size, two going each crate. My question is do you cover your crates? Thankyou.

Ours is covered sides, top and back. My friend covers her dog's totally overnight, but I don't think that's fair for mine. She says it means her dog sleeps better, but mine sleeps like a log anyway and never makes a noise.

If and it's a massive if, mum comes home she will need careers 4 ish times a day. Either me or my sister would be here as mum has dementia but there will be a period of an afternoon that we might not be bad this lad won't allow strangers to touch 'his mum' especially if she moans. So I need him to feel as safe as possible and not see the carers. Id she comes home she will be down stairs as immobile and the crates will move upstairs.

Glad it's not just me that does that!! Mine is covered top sides and back, door is always open though, unless I have workmen in.
Ours double deck! We have a normal dog bed on top of a crate, so with a bed on top, a wall behind and a big step to one side it’s kind of covered but open to the front and one side.
