This is the headline of an article in Bristol Evening Post on 15th Feb - can't find a link. Basically local slaughterer charged people £920 to have horses cremated and ashes returned. What he did was sent body to Exeter to be "rendered" (not sure of technicalities) and returned any old ashes in an urn. He was fined and awarded costs of almost £29k. Only investigated after someone thought that the ashes returned were far to light weight for her horse.
