Hello
I have an AQH cremello colt I want to show this season.
If I’m honest it is not a colour I like but he was too good not to have. He 424ABBC7-4B9D-4988-81D6-D7F861805088.jpegis well made and has a brilliant brain/temperament. I might show him at breed shows but there are only a couple and I will be producing him for English riding. I have looked at the palomino society and they have classes for his colouring then I think he will be shown as a foreign breed in other shows when there are no classes for him. All of these classes I have no idea about so would welcome any advice on turnout and classes. He is a yearling so at the moment is kept behind closed doors so to not scare anyone! Lol ?
One question I have is do you highly white markings? He has some face markings and legs then he has the white mane and tail. Added a baby pic he looks like a cream giraffe at the moment ??‍♀️
Thank you for reading ?

Foreign and rare breed horses in foreign breed classes should be turned out to their standard, I don’t know how a QH is normally presented but however you’d turn him out for his classes at a breed show would be fine, just swap an English saddle in when he’s old enough! I have shown a Haflinger, a Clydesdale and an Ardennes in rare / foreign and they all went according to b

The Palomino society used to have their own rules on turnout, I don’t know if it’s still the case but they used to want loose manes and tails so the colour could be seen. So worth checking their website for affiliated class rules.

A lot of local shows also include dilutes in the coloured classes so that might be an option for riding club level.

As a youngster, I would also present him true to breed in young stock classes - I used to show M and M babies and they all went in mixed classes unplaited. Follow the show rules on bits.

He’s a handsome chap. The white markings are left as they are, unless you feel like chalking but I don’t think he’ll have enough hair to need it.
