Vet is booked for tomorrow so hopefully we'll no more by the end of this week. The pony is fine in himself and very happy, I'm sure some would think we're bizarre for getting the vet out for a crest!

Not at all - just the actions of a good observant owner who's noticed a difference in their pony and is setting out to solve the issue.
No vet will think you bizarre - most would rather treat a condition as early as is possible.

Another fan of this here….. Started mine 3 weeks ago and his crest is mess hard and reduced in size…… He has tested negative for EMS and Cushings, is always muzzled this time of year, has always been fed a very low sugar diet (for years) but this year gained a MASSIVE crest ??!!

The free step is defo helping- its also helping his arthritis also so extra bonus
 
Vet came, took blood for a cushings test, but had forgotten to mention to the yard that Val needed to fast before an EMS test, so next time he's out Val will have an EMS test. He said he didn't look bad at all and would only score him 2.5/3 out of 5 for a BCS. I did sound a little like he didn't really understand why we bothering, but I guess that because our yard is full of very overweight horses and Val is positively athletic in comparison. Fingers crossed for the results.
 
Please don't waste your money on fancy supplements for ems horses,they need to be managed by diet,weight loss,exercise and possibly metformin if your horse cannot be exercised.Please see the Laminitis Site or Talk about Lamintis (Liphook Equine Hospital) sites for help,not hearsay.
