Cricklands winter league finals - April 2012 seniors

Has anybody been to Cricklands before? I have qualified for 2'3 over 35 Seniors would love to know if anybody is going in that class or does anybody have experience of it?

I didn't realise that it ran over 3 days I thought it was a case of just turn up like at a normal show then do your class and home again!

I have been a couple of times and would go every year if I hadn't have had to sell my lorry :-(

It is a really lovely weekend run over 3 days. On the Friday morning there is a warm up class (1 round against the clock), Friday afternoon there is team jumping (or in my case a chance to mooch about), Saturday morning is the warm up class (1 round against the clock), Saturday afternoon is Heat 1 Champ round (1 round and JO) and Sunday is the same.

There are rosettes and prize money to 10th place for every class and you can do as many of the warm ups as you want. When I go I tend to jump at 2 heights so only do one warm up in the morning to get used to a different ring or something.

Every year I have been I have met with new people and have made some great friends. The atmosphere is really lovely, the first time I went I had only been competing for 3 months but people there helped us out.

There is entertainment on in the evenings and the food in the club bit is ok. There is a village close by and the Chinese take away and Pizza place deliver to the camp site. The stables are right near the rings and there are plenty of places to sit and watch.

Writing all this is making me very sad! Due to various reasons the last time we went was August 2010 and Saf is 18 now so don't know if she will get to go again. I have tried to be cheeky and cadge lifts but I know what its like from when we used to have the lorry.

I have never had a bad time there, the competitiors and staff have always been lovely. I even managed to get a bit of advice from James Broome when I was having a potter about on the Thursday night as we got there, very very nice people.
