Okay so physio cale last week, though hock - joint
Vet came today after 3 hours of nerve blocks and x rays its still unclear of what the problem is although we have ruled things out.
Personally i think its suspensory going off my own research and another member of the forum whos horse was showing identical symptoms to my mare.
So first we lunged and interestingly she was alot lamer than normal, normally its 1/10th but today it was more 2/10ths on the right hind on a circle, straight line she was 1/10th so still slight and positive to a flexion.
Nerve blocked the hock first, lunged again - slight improvement but not enough - x rays showed nothing, clean hock
Nerve blocked the stifle - which took longer as had to sedate her a bit. Alot better on lunge but i still wasnt convinced - she still looked *off* to me although better not 100%, x rays clear. Vet said it was a good enough improvement to come back and scan next week and thinks will find inflamtion and plans to medicate the stifle and hock together. But, had a rethink and Suspensory was mentioned (by vet first then i discussed my concerns) and vet said stifle and suspensory can go hand in hand, so after another chat and rethink he will be nerve blocking that area next week - if she's really sound then we will know after a scan its suspensory, and stifle and hock secondary symptoms (which is my gut feeling) he wants to rule the suspensory out first.
So still not out the dark but a little more closer to a diagnosis.
Roll on next week!
