Well we went to the vets this morning for Cropi to have the tumour removed from her 3rd eyelid.

They heavily sedated her and nerve blocked rather than GA. They let me stay with her while she had it done and she just rested her head in my arms while they operated.

It seemed to go well. The vet had to totally remove the 3rd eyelid as the tumour was quite aggresive but fingers crossed its all out now. It will be sent away to be analysed and hopefully they will be able to tell us that it has not spread anywhere else.

I was able to bring her home with me and she does look very very sorry for herself, its like she is crying tears of blood but at least its flushing out. She has got antibiotic drops to go in her eye which I am not too thrilled about as I reckon theres more chance of rocking horse poo than me being able to get them in, so she has got oral ones too. We can't ride for a week and the vet will come back out in 2 weeks with the results and to check on her.

I've just nipped home for an hour before I go back down and see her again.

Fingers crossed its all sorted now and she will have a speedy and full recovery

Havent followed what has happened but i hope she makes a speedy recovery! Hugs to you as well. It must be dreadful to go through.

The vet took a lot of photos before, during and after as he has been asked to write some articles for some magazines and he is going to use Cropi in one of them. He said its really interesting as its not very common.

My pretty little girl is going to be in a mag

Lots of love and kisses to Cropi. They can recover astonishingly quickly from stuff like this though and tomorrow she may look a whole world better off. What about lots of grooming and loving and cuddling? Can you do that? I'd lavish her with attention all day long.

Without a doubt, she normally loves cuddles and just loves being around you. She will get lots of grooming and attention for sure. I think when the blood tears stop then it will look a bit better. I might try and get some pics later if she will let me.

Thats great to hear it was all sorted so quickly and efficiently, and keeping everything crossed that its all sorted now. Hoping Cropi's eye isn't sore for too long

Message from Amber to Cropi, glad to hear the op is over, now milk it for all it's worth! Look sad and dejected and most of all HUNGRY.
Message from me to Triksy, glad to hear all ok and am keeping things crossed that the rest is ok.

Thank you ((((hugs))))) I've just got back from the yard and oh yes she is milking it already!! If I look at her eye, she has to have a polo reward, when I wipe her eye, another polo and as for the drops, well that cost me 4 treats!!!!!

Actually she was really good, she had quite a bit of blood on her face but it wiped off no problem and her actual eye actually looks pretty good. She woofed her dinner, along with the Norodine and Bute so no problems there. She is very cuddly and clingy. I hated leaving her

I'm a bit worried as I've taken the fly mask off as its peeing with rain and obviously it night time. I'm worried that she will roll and get mud in it but the forecast for tonight is so bad I can't really leave it on. I'm going to get down there extra early in the morning so I've got plenty of time before work to pamper her
