Hi i am fairly new here and i would really like some help and advise on where to train in and around kent.
I live in Mallorca.. but my parents live in kent. I am a BHSPTC and have my grooms certificate, i am still working on my stage 3 riding to get my BHSAI but i have a real dilemma...I have never done x country! Here in the Mallorca the ground is really hard and stoney and there is not a single cross country course on the island for me to train on. I am coming over to the uk for christmas and also in feb and i would like to find somewhere that i can do an intensive course in xc.. The problem is most of the yards that i've called close their courses at this time of year due to ground conditions... please can anyone recommend a place or people that i can train with... Thanks

Stage 3 XC isn't too difficult, and it's more about XC technique than jumping huge fences at great speed (the examiners don't like to be too stressed, so they keep it as straightforward as possible).

There are many trainers in your parents' area who would be able to teach XC technique without you needing to go out on a real XC course. At this time of year, some of the exam centres even make do with portable fences in an arena when they can't get people out onto a course (we did that a few weeks ago and it worked very well).

Presumably you are comfortable with riding out in the open (ie not in an arena?) and jumping showjumps, in which case you should be fine!
