Supposed to be having a yard outing on Sunday and decided on cross country schooling, checked Ely Eventing centre and its closed  gutted!

Can anyone recommend a local cross country course as an alternative? Must have a good selection of low jumps for first timers!

Blackwater farm? keysoe? elvedon? carlton?

Alconbury hasnt got much, fine for babys but no ditch, uninviting water and most fences are put away between competitions.

If you want a flowing course would go to elveden (go soon as its closing soon :( ) as has bit of everything up to 3'3''/3'6'' ish in hight some large drop fences and some combinations, although i went a week and a half ago and their water jump was a little boggy but still usable.

Good for young and experienced horses i think :)

Unless you're after really small, Horseshoe and Forest Edge aren't great for that. The water is very uninviting and the ditches aren't great for first timers...

Blackwater Farm is good if the trek is not too much- fences from about 70cm (and sweet at that height) to BE Intermediate :D Really like it there, and it's not very expensive!
