cross country/water

I have taken my young 4yr old cross country training over little logs etc but cannot get her through the water. Been through puddles all winter no probs but will not go in on courses, had a lead , tried walking through with her,used richard maxwell training halter which helped start her loading but will no way go in the water. Any suggestions most welcome.
 
Have you tried the beach? Sounds mad, but when I had a pony who wouldn't go near the water, and after a day playing at the beach with my sister and her pony 9who was an old hand, and always went in as deep as possible!), we never had a problem at water again. The rest of the course, however...!
 
ok so H had this prob as a 4yo aswell he was petrified, anyway i just kept going through deeper puddles and eventually he got brave enough to go in a v small water fence i did think about taking to a horse pool though as i think that would help luckily not needed as he got better with age, tey and find a little stream/ford on rides asnd gradually introduce it that way
 
Live in the Midlands so the beach is not really an option but will try and find some places with little streams. Thanks
