What are your opinions on horses that cross their jaws? Is it classed as a major vice? Can it be cured? I know it can be helped/prevented with various bits, but does it affect a horse when showing?

Not sure about the showing, but usually means discomfort mouth,neck or back.

I agree with jr. Most likely the wrong bit. Second cause the rider! Whatever the cause it is discomfort

My horse crossed her jaw as a youngster, it has'nt effected us showing. We schooled in a grackle to help & swapped to flat nose band when showing. That seemed to work for us. But all horses & cases are different....
