Just an update for all those of you who were kind enough to comment on my recent post to offer advice and share experiences. The good news is that Panda saw the specialist vet last week and he did not recommend surgery on a dog or her age especially as she has a bit of arthritis. He said the joint is reasonably stable and as she is getting around not too badly to just carry on. He gave me some different analgesia for her and she is on a good joint supplement. She seems happy enough as is actually quite a lazy dog which is a good thing, and being winter here she loves lying at the fire or outside when the sun is shining with her coat on. Some days she will follow me down the paddocks when I muck out, other days she will stay in the hayshed waiting on my hens laying eggs for her! Goodness knows how many she gets some days!. So we shall carry on. We went on holiday last week and went as far south as we could in NZ, I think she enjoyed the change. Being a bull breed type she is probably on everyone's barge pole list. I would never have this type of normally but I fostered her and she is just the kindest natured, gentle easy dog ever. Everyone who knows her thinks she is great.
