For those of you who, like me, are really nosey - apparently it was the dalmatian which was the 'wonder dog' that William Hill Bookmakers were so worried about. Apparently it has about 33 tickets and is a superb example of it's breed (although this was from the person who gave it it's third ticket

) - no comment as to why it didn't win the group however

According to the reports from the bookies it was actually for a Standard Poodle not the Dalmation. And not even the Standard that took the breed. That went to the bitch from the USA, the big bets were for the dog ticket winner from the USA (owned and handled by the same person actually). It had seemed such a sure thing that the top UK dog (and also a US Ch) Afterglow the Big Tease did not even enter. And it seemed even more of a sure thing as the group judge was SP man - well it did not work in their favour after all.

A friend has SP's and for weeks before there had been talk about this and the betting going on. The media big news story was old hat.
