Probably yes then, I took it you meant the show classes. That figure includes all the FT and gamekeeper class entries so I'd wager you're wrong
No showing for us, Ivy will be on the German Longhaired Pointer discover dogs stand with my husband on the Saturday.
I’ll be at home with the pup, but very much hoping to be there showing him next year

Good entry for GLPs this year, 33. Nearly level with GWP
I know that lots of dogs that are taking part both work and show, which is awesome- there’s been a big push for this to happen so we don’t end up with a working vs showing line. It’s all quite exciting really
I’m off to watch the Lancashire Heelers on Friday. Go and cheer on Pearl and Rocks’y’s breeder and her entries - been a while since I’ve been.
That sounds like a really positive move; I'm a cocker spaniel person and I don't like the way most of the 'show' types are going (more towards the flatter-faced American CS, with excessive coat). Mind you, I have also seen some very badly put together 'working' cockers out and about, but I suspect they may be from unregistered/accidental/cross breeding.
I really liked the cocker type commonly seen about 20+yrs ago which was probably half way between today's workers and show-types, a bit more substantial than some of the workers but lighter than the show types and with a more traditional head. Some of the show dogs I've seen recently look like they are heading towards looking like a King Charles Spaniel rather than maintaining the distinct cocker look.

Thats fabulous
Erik’s Dad is over from Belgium to compete for the first time. I’m sad I can’t be there, but looking forward to seeing how he gets on- Along with lots of other GLP friends and dog relatives.

It does frustrate me to see the number of ‘gundogs’ in the show ring who aren’t fit to even work half a day. And those are the ones that do well- it would be nice to see more of them completing a SGWC cert to prove they’re fit for purpose!
Fantastic - I think we are stuck in Hall 5 all day as we're doing the Gamekeeper's team as well having dragged him across the water with us...irst Irish shoot to enter it so we are crossing our fingers! I'll keep an eye on the results online for the GLPs - one of the judges for BASC classes this year is trialling a GLP currently!
Yes! She’s an A panel field trial judge and is absolutely lovely- Her bitch is Ivy’s litter sister, Weasel- she qualified for open a couple of weeks ago
Good luck in the BASC classes! Enjoy it and a blank shot sounds like a fabulous idea
I still maintain we should do a blank shot, eject all the obviously gunshy then make them do a short dummy retrieve conformation judging follows...!
I've only got one entered under her - the others are under Laura Hill
I'll be there all week with my trade stand as always.
Hard work but enjoyable.
Always happy to meet anyone Hall 5, stand 174b
Heelers have got a great entry for a vulnerable breed.
