cruisings mickey finn v luidam

I love Cruisings Mickey Finn. Beautiful horse, super competition results, super all Irish pedigree but I like Luidam more but only use Luidam if your mare is real blood.

1 good reason to use Cruisings MF, his sire is the absolute very best horse of all time.

1 good reason to use Luidam, Friday August 6th, 2004! Look it up

Don't forget Ringfort Cruise. Jumped double clear in the 2007 Lisbon Nations Cup. Best of both worlds with him, by Cruising and out of Renkum Woudina by Nimmerdor. Has plenty of quality about him

Jumped on the 2007 Aga Khan team for Holland and on the 2009 Hickstead Nations Cup team for Ireland. I don't think he's easily accessible at stud though. I think due to competition committments he's only covering 40 mares which are already booked. Can't be certain though so check out the KEC website.

If you do use one of Kennedy's horses, I'd advise you to keep Lancelot in mind.

Another horse that's a bargain is Mermus R.

Have you seen Luidam's new stable mate Omar? Fantastic horse. I'll post more about him later. Off to a show now

No, he's Belgian. By Darco. The most blood type Darco horse I've ever seen. That could be because he is out of a mare by the Trakenher stallion Amagun.
He has competed up to 5* star level and has progeny jumping at 4* level.
He's fully approved and a bargain at 600 yo yos

I'am an admirer of Cruisings Micky Finn. Met him at his owners yard some years ago when we went to look at one of his other stallions. He brought this boy out for us to have a look at but unfourtunately for us we choose the other one, what a silly thing to do. Also saw his owner compete him in his early days and boy does he have scope to burn, what a jump. Think the last time we saw him was at his owners new yard about three years ago(after we used one of his other young stallions) and he is the most handsome horse, happy to let us fuss him as he looked out of his stable door.
How much do we wish we'd used him( when we had the chance) in the days when his stud fee was half what it is now,oh well maybe one day.

According to the results/report he owns Ben Nevis the winner of the 3yr old loose jumping competition they have up here and also had another young colt there Millfield Roly Poly. Don't know if he still owns Clydecruiser as he was up for sale at one point. The stallion we used ( Otis ) he unforunately lost very young due to colic but he usually has a few youngsters coming through. Think you may get his details from the Scotland AI website if you wanted to give him a call very friendly and helpful person.

my clover brigade mare is 3yo and this is my short list so far open to all suggestions should i go foreign or should i stay irish

Clover Brigade is lovely breeding for a brood mare, but there are more things to consider, like size, temperament, how scopey she is, is she careful etc.. Its not about foreign v. Irish, its about the right stallions for your mare.. Do you want to breed a showjumper or eventer? If you need more scope I woul sdefinitely suggest go warmblood.

well then no hope she is a short thick butty little mare however i heard cruising's mickey finn takes after skyboy alot more than cruising and from what my father tells me skyboy was a big light thoroughbred horse which would sound prefect for this mare and him being a dual croker cup winner is just a bonus

I don't care much for the Croker Cup, my Father tries to tell me of the importance of it every year but it's like talking to a wall. I see it as a pretty boy contest for thoroughbred stallions. I think, you could be well advised to take a look at Watermill Swatch. He also won the Croker Cup and is a beautiful model of a thoroughbred stallion. He's cheaper than Cruisings MF and stands at the same stud. If you get a filly, that could be the quality filly I'm constantly barraging people about in the other thread

pretty boy or ugly f****r you can't denie he was the best tb stallion of his time
i like watermill swatch but someone keeps me cruising was the best of all time is he just b******ting me

I'd go for Ringfort Cruise over CMF - RC has more natural canter and is more adjustable from the Nimmedor dam line than CMF. Both have scope to burn though.

ETA: I'd also consider Contador while he's still in the country and available chilled - very blood/typey and would suit butty Irish mares well. Has 2yos on the ground on the continent too

Which? Sky Boy? Definitely! Not only as a dual-Croker-Cup-winner and producing Skylight and Kiltealy Spring.

Kiltealy Spring covered less than 300 mares and produced an individual European silver medallist in Some Day Soon and probably the most medal-ed pony in European eventing history too, Noble Springbok.

And the Tatts World Cup qualifier winner & Olympic horse, Fernhill Clover Mist and possibly one of the most correct, beautiful-moving All Ireland champions that I can ever remember in Okavango.

Cruising? Who he? :D

Your father speaks sense.

Walking the talk with the Watermill Swatch filly plan - I think judging by the shape of one bump and lack of another that the best-laid plans can be thwarted. :D

You think that judging by the shape of one bump and lack of another that the best laid plans can be thwarted?

Eh, well, I've never heard that one before and to be honest, don't have a clue what it means! Also, walking the talk? Pardon?

As for the Croker Cup, I'll give it a second look when the stallions have to jump in it.

Also, am I to believe, that erudite, well spoken, seemingly intelligent people are actually questioning The Great One. Sitting at your computers, typing away and questioning the mightiness of the one we are blessed, honoured, fortunate and envied to be able to call our own? I highly recommend, that the next time you question Cruising's greatness, even in jest, that you seek professional help to sort your life out!

Small steps.

I have two mares in foal to Swatch. One appears to be carrying a colt, the other looks suspiciously light = therefore, the hopes of two fillies are looking slim.

That's walking the talk. Not 'barraging' others.

As for your other comments ..

Better get back in here quickly! I meant no offense at all by that, I was joking. If it seemed harsh and arrogant, then I'm sorry. If it didn't seem harsh and offensive, just downright ignorant and rude, then I'm sorry
