My TB, who lives out, gets thrush really badly. He has very very sensitive feet and has gone lame from thrown shoes and thrush in the past.
Anyway, although the actual hoof isn't too brittle or too soft, i was looking at the NAF Pro Feet Rock Hard hoof oil, and it seems like it may be pretty good for him.
Recently the soles have gone white and crumble - i think hardening his soles up would benefit him.

has anyone else used it, or does anyone know if it is any good?

I have a warmblood who has the same problem have used rock hard and the difference is wonderful my farrier is so pleased with the results

\sounds like his soles could be exfoliating

A very good oil for the foot is Hoof Heal as its penetrative and breathable and is concentrated so needs only applying three times a week. Could possibly be used in conjunction with a hardener but im not sure thats the best product for your horse during summer, winter perhaps when it gets very wet and muddy

I would not recommend that you use a hardener, as you need to be keeping the hoof moisturised, hoof hardener will only make them more brittle. Get a good oil as said or Kevin Bacon stuff is good.

Thank you, i've bought some hoof heal, just waiting to see some results now
