Cudo gets to come home in America

No need to justify yourself Emily; you have the horse in front of you, no one on here has any idea what the horse is feeling like. Sounds like he's doing very well, best of luck with him.

This 100%

Nothing wrong with a wee leg stretch

he looks like a nice boy and has good movement, yes a little stiff at times but that is to be expected after that long journey and having no turnout...your person doing the video obviously thinks the walk is not interesting as every time you went into walk the video stopped and i was looking forward to seeing a long swinging walk on a long rein to get more idea of how he moves...never mind perhaps next time, once he has settled in to his routine i am sure you will have lots of fun with him as he seems to have a good temperament. good luck

LOL. The person videoing was my husband and he's a bit trained to video the actual work and then stop. He will video the walk if I ask him to, but on this day he was not that happy that I was asking him to just video with my cell phone when he'd been shooting my work with his nice cameras. Ahhhh artists and their art. :-)

Since last we checked in Cudo has enjoyed a thorough Pulse and massage therapy. He LOVED it. You can see a video clip here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcpbCDu6iJk

The deal.... as I have been told... is that the more the muscles are 'jumping' the more that area needed the pulse work. In very basic terms... the jumping is caused by the muscles being 'kinked' from stress, work, pain etc. And that the pulse kind of works like shaking out a bedsheet to get all the wrinkles out. That's a very simplistic layperson explanation but it made sense to me.

Cudo did well and the nice thing is that Jordan is also a equine massage therapist so when she could see/feel problem areas she massaged them during and after they were pulsed.

Horses can benefit from some time off after a pulsing so he's not going to be ridden until Friday now.

Yesterday he and I went for a nice long walk around the outdoor hacking track. He's taking it all in and today gets to experience turnout with a buddy. I bought him quite possibly the most horrendous looking turnout sheet. But it will do the job.

Farrier comes to meet him today and look over his feet to make plans on how we will shoe him. Dentist comes Saturday to put his teeth right (They're just due for his annual).

So hopefully next week he'll start up some regular work and feel a bit more himself.

He's tentatively booked into a clinic with my longest running trainer, Jimmy Wofford on March 1st. Jimmy's an icon in US eventing, but beyond that he's a great friend. So hopefully we're able to make that lesson.

More pics to come once we do more than stand on the cross ties. :)
