I am so happy with Cudo tonight. We had had a bit of a rougher jump school last week as he didn't feel like he was really enjoying his regular bit so I swamped to his daily bit and he was a bit racey thereafter. So tonight we tried a different bit and he was much better.

I am also thrilled that when I measured the jumps we had 7 out of 10 in the ring over 4' high!!! That's kind of a fun thing when you've come as far as I have in the mere 17 months of owning Cudo. Everything is on track and we booked our hotel this weekend. 19 days to go. Very exciting and hoping it is a worthy journey.

Enjoy the video. We're not perfect yet but it's getting good.

Really enjoyed watching this - you're both a treat to watch :) Do they use the Swedish Oxer a lot over in the US? We don't really see it here - apart from in the odd unnafil. I think the horses can struggle to read the question right so I'm not a massive fan. Cudo jumped it super once he'd figured it out! He looks like a fantastic ride x

I always love your video's you ride so calmly and you look so good together. Took me a while to see what a Swedish Oxer was he made the water jump look so easy.

Good look for Kentucky.

Swedish oxers aren't used as much but I'm kindof working on the theory that if I prepare him for everything than if it's just the standard fare, all the better. He did misread it a couple times so I think it was worth playing with. I jumped it 2 (?) Times more that weren't on the video and he took the front rail each time. What helped was moving the gate forward 6" so it slightly created a ramp effect.

Thanks for the compliments. :) I feel like the decision to stop showing for a bit and to school more at home, and thus jump for educational purposes, not for show prep a week out, was the right decision. He's gotten MUCH better at adding in tighter distances. That pink in and out was tough as I set it to only 24' coming out of the turn. He only hit that once though.

OOH another vid from you! YaY!

You both look so cool and collected, I love it. I wish I could ride like you, so calm and quiet and allowing.
I said it before, you are such a refreshing inspiration. :)

He is a good boy! Some great jumps there and interesting questions. And they are biiiiiiiiig. He seems very relaxed and easy into a fence but I’m sure there’s a lot more going on but you make it look very smooth!

love his canter its great for jumping, he looks at times like he is self adjusting his stride into a jump

Oh he absolutely is adjusting the stride. He knows his job well and he has figured out that he better take care of his body because the dingbat on his back sometimes makes mistakes!!!;)

Actually you're seeing it pretty much as it is. The little head flips are him being excited to jump big and I have to remember to use my hands less. Ugh big thing I am working on. But other than him being much fitter and ready for a jump off pace at any moment, you're seeing what I feel.

Ok so as you watch the video here are the heights:

First vertical - @ 1m

Oxer into the swedish line: 1m

Oxer coming out of the turn on the diagonal, initially 1.15m, moved up to 1.30m+

Swedish : Initially 1.15m, moved up to 1.25m

Swedish line distance, initially 60', moved out to 66'

Oxer to right of water jump: 1.30 (Only jumped once due to poor footing on landing side, lack of footing.)

Pink in and out:
Vertical: 1.20m+ (4')
Oxer: 1.25m
Distance: 24' (Intentionally tight to make him wait)

Oxer at end of Pink line: 1.40m
Distance from pink in and out: 64'

Water jump width: 9'9" (Almost 3m)
