Its fabulous there, I've ridden there 3 times now and highly recommend it. Annie and Tim the owners are so lovely and all of the team is welcoming, professional and good fun! The horses are well schooled and responsive - the farm ride is lovely and gentle so your hubby will be fine! The scenery (when its not raining) is stunning. To be one of half a dozen Clydies galloping along the beach is an experience not to be missed - maybe you'll have to book that one for the day after while your hubby is resting his muscles!
My firend nearly went to work for them this summer but ended up down south. You will have a fab time. Hudson gallops on the beach and can be as fast as the skinny ones!! You will have a wonderful time. If they had come closer to me on their migration from Skye I would have joined them for a leg. A while ago we had a guest from Austria who rode with them on Skye, think it was a horse called Major, they really enjoyed it, have fun
I have just discovered this forum this evening and its lovely to find heavy lovers.
We keep a stable of 10 Shires and 1 French Percheron Jimmy who is 'odd one out' and is going to be going up for sale soon if anyone knows of a good home for him.
All of our Horses are working horses and are, as the old boy said 'proper size horses' standing 16.3 - 17h. The old fashioned style of Shire - not the hybrid show monsters
Our website www.theostler.com has lots of photographs if you are interested in taking a look !
We, like Cumbrian Heavy Horses do experience days here in Essex - Im sure you will have a great time !
Would add some photos to this message but have no idea how to
