Curbs/false curbs. Are these a big deal?

I have recently acquired an unbacked 4 yr old Irish sports horse who has slight curbs. I don't know a huge amount about these but from what I've read these are likely to be false curbs. How do I tell the difference? Is this something I should be overly concerned about? He has beautiful movement and very good breeding. There has never been any pain/swelling /lameness, they are just a bony lump which isn't big. He did pass a vetting prior to purchase.

I can’t help with False Curbs.

My horse threw a curb behind in 2015.

He went lame behind and it took quite awhile to get him right. He had Sep-Feb off work in a field turned away. And then came back in to walk work. Which he did for about 6months as anything quicker flared it back up. We only went in straight lines for about 10months as I gradually reintroduced quicker work. He went Eventing again in 2017 and it’s never caused a problem since. It just took a long time to settle.

He was best on hard ground, soft ground flared it up. And we think it was caused by being worked on surface that was too deep.
