Thats the one.Like I said my horse did his 2 years ago. With the right rest and treatment he came back sound. He was 5 at the time and had come off the race track so maybe he had been worked too hard.If you want any more info you can pm me or reply .I do remember him having a injection to help repair cartledge which sometimes breaks down after the injury .6 weeks after the injection he was back to normal although you should have 6 months of regular work before you return to jumping.I also had regular scans to make sure that the curb was recovering and healing properly.Hope that helps.
Does he still have a noticable lump there?
One of my foals developed one early on, as a strain and although it has gone down a lot it is still there and obviously I cant show him with a curb.
Vet isn't worrided by it at all, as he is sound as a pound so I was wondering is there was any treatment to help get rid of the last bit of the lump, the cartiledge injection you mentioned might be worth investigating
FB got a curb in his first winter - hooning round a field through the mud. He was never lame, but I noticed it immediately when he came in. Got vet out, who said it was a shame, but not worth worrying about... From memory just prescribed box rest and bute at the time. That was nearly 8 years ago, and you can still see it, though it's not as obvious as it was...
It has never bothered him work wise, but is a blemish for showing, yes.
