Curious, do hot air balloons scare your neddys?

I've never happened across one with a horse, but I suppose they don't worry so much if it's airbourne as they have no aerial predators?? Or do they?

I was riding in the school with a friend when one started to lose height and came right overhead, low enough for us to shout hello to the passengers! The pilot was careful not to activate the burner directly overhead and they came down in the next field. The horses just looked at it, I think they were confused but certainly weren't scared.

My boy was terrified of them. If he was in his stable he would twirl round and round in panic. I used to get him out on the yard. He was happier when he could see them and not just hear them.. He kept a very wary eye on them, think eyes on stalks! One day my OH was leading him up the lane when one appeared, they had never come home so fast as the balloon was coming in the same direction! This from a pony like a saint in all traffic, jets and helicopters, not to mention bird scarers.

lol, I have a vision of your poor OH being dragged up the lane !

My old dog was terrified after one, obviously much lower than he wanted to be put his burner on about 20' above her. She remained very upset by anything round and above her, (full moon, ceiling rose) for a couple of weeks.
