ok....I am "toying" with the idea of getting an ickle lorry.......as i hate having to rely on other people for transport and would like to get out and about with Bob this year.

( i would prefer a 4X4 and trailer.....but can't really justify that expense when we are currently looking at buying a house)

I don't want to spend much, as i wouldn't be venturing far in it, and living isn't a priority.

So was perusing Ebay, and these both caught my eye.

so what are your thoughts?
And why does one have lots of bids, and the other none atall? I know one is newer, more modern etc...but is there major probs with the other one?

lorry 1 - no bids

lorry 2 - lots of bids

I am just researching atm, so any feedback/advice appreciated!

Lorry 1 is Petrol, which means it will most likely cost more to run, and it says it fits 2 ponies, which makes me think it is smaller. It also has no tax on it, whereas Lorry 2 is taxed til October.

Lorry one is MUCH older, has no living and will roll like crazy (mine used to terrify me). It's also petrol.

Lorry two is much more atractively presented and obviously has the living, is much newer and has a much more powerful, economical (and safe) turbo diesel engine.

I've got a beautiful hardwood bodied one but otherwise like the first one sitting in a field as a mobile shed - having had new top end and clutch weeks before I took it off the road. I'd no idea they were going for so much!

Lorry 1 is a fair bit older. Dimemsions are pretty much the same for width and height as lorry 2.

Lorry 2 looks smart and has the living but all that in a 3.5t proably means you could only carry a shetland legally, not the 2 16 handers as stated.
Fitting them in is one thing, being within the weight limit is another entirely.

Lorry 1 is very like one I had. I didnt have any trouble with it except for the flat-fronted luton. Because it is totally non-aerodynamic I had to be careful if I went on the motorway as I couldnt get to the minimum speed limit!!!!!! Unless I was going downhill with the wind behind me!!!!

The ramp was also very steep.

Lorry 2- You pay extra for living but have extra weight so this can be an issue. You may only be able to legally take one horse, whatever they say!!
