Curly horses, Would you??

My OH is more in-love with me than I am with them

Hi, I am allergic to hay and straw and slightly allergic to horses too and would love to own a curly that could live out all year round, as the very happy and healthy horses belonging to my friend do. I have been searching for curlies for sale in the UK and they are quite rare. I would be delighted if there were more breeders in the UK. I have discovered 2 breeders but one is in Scotland and the other in Surrey, the Scottish website is from 2005 and the Surrey breeder only seems to have a couple of expensive young foals for sale (lovely as they are!). I have never seen any curlies for sale on horse ad websites. So please do breed some - Britain needs curlies!

Haven't read all the replies but I am allergic to horse hair, other animal hair, hay, straw, house dust etc, etc, etc.

So buying a hypo-allergenic horse wouldn't be solving anything for me or most others, because there is no hypo-allergenic hay or straw, so I would still suffer allergic reactions.

Nice looking horses though!

We see Bashkir Curlies on this side of the Atlantic; generally they are advertised for sale for ages and ages and then the price reduces and reduces ..... eventually they sell.

For all their "selling points" they don't seem to sell very well or quickly over here. Keep doing your research though but don't believe everything everyone says as there are so many people who say "yes I'd buy this or that" but when it really comes down to it, they don't.

I personally think they are quite ugly and unattractive horses in the flesh, although I do agree with you in that all the ones I've met have been very easy-going.

I wish you good luck in your possible new business venture and I hope you are very successful.
