I have an 11.2 on 2.5 prascend a day. I've had lots of problems getting her to take the tablets, but the one thing that has never failed (so far) is giving her a handful of Rowan Barbary Soft n Soak Ready Mash on top of her hi fi, with the prascend in it. I originally got it for our donkey who is a very picky eater, he loves it (it does smell good) so I tried it to disguise the prascend, and result! If you give Rowan Barbary a call they will probably send you a sample you could try . They also do a mash specifically to put weight on Cushings/laminitic horses
but I believe it is quite strong smelling so your lad might not eat it. Possibly worth asking for a sample of that too though.
