If laminitis isn’t present, it helps to go down by half a tablet then increase weekly by 1/4 until you are back up. How long it lasts without changing anything I’m not sure, but I think mine went off hard food for a couple of weeks.

It depends on the horse, it can be a week or 2. Mine just went off her feed and hay completely after she had been on the tablets for a while and lost loads of weight . I wonder if it changes their taste buds. I got lots of samples from feed companies and luckily found a minty chaff that she liked and also fast fibre. I tried different types of hay with no success and ended up with hayledge , the high fibre one …

Mine was fine to start with on 1 tablet but went off her food after about 6 months , it may have been when she was increased to one and a half tablets , her levels were very hard to control and eventually she ended up on 4 tablets which sadly still didn’t stop her levels rising so I think she was a bad case ..
