My mare is on 2 a day at the moment, amd is very suspicious of food now. I usually put the tablets into the side of her mouth and hold her until they've dissolved, or she swallows them.

I have three ponies with cushings and all are on prascend. Two eat the tablets along with a small feed every morning with no problems. The third is now suspicious of all food and will only really eat hay or grass. For a while putting the tablet in a hollowed out carrot worked, or else in a piece of bread but now she will rarely take any hand fed food from anyone. She is a rescue pony and was obviously badly treated previously so will rear if she feels threatened so syringe feeding or sticking it in the side of her mouth is out of the question. I just try daily to bribe her with something or else I dip the tablet in water and half dissolve it and stick it to some hay which goes in her tub trug. Sometimes it gets eaten, sometimes not. We've made the decision that once she goes downhill we will pts but at the moment she is doing fine on about two half doses of tablet a week.

Little update on our mini Shetland, vet phoned this morning with the results of her first blood test after taking prascend for 6 weeks. Levels started at 450, now 17! No wonder she's looking and feeling better!
