Hi, I'm about to buy a load of shavings in and have been given a good quote from cushionbed but as I have never used these before I was wondering if any of you did. Could you tell me your thoughts please as I'd hate to buy in bulk to find out that its pants for the sake of asking around!!

Cheers D x

hi i use it and i quite like it i always used shavings before but this is more absorbent and easier i only skip out and take the wet out once a week using 2 bales to top up it doesn't move as much as shavings the only thing i will say is the office aren't always that organized and delivery wise the delivery people don't always listen ie if u have limited acsess i always ask for a 7.5 tonn and they always send something bigger!!! but other than yet i would go for it

it is cheaper than shavings too

I use aquamax, shavings but in pellet form which is brilliant. I have rubber mats and finding something to put on the top is quite difficult .. this is ideal

Most of my liveries changed over from shavings/straw to Cushion bed the other year and they love it, my shetland i have on it, i mix it in with shavings - just my preference.
I havnt had a livery not like it! Nor have i heard of people at other yards not liking it

Good luck with whatever you decide.

ps - we have never had any problems with the office, they are always fab and try and fit a pallet or two on when they are heading our way.

We've been using it for quite a while now and no problems whatsover. It's very easy to muck out, doesn't move underfoot and for the first time ever we foaled down on it this year with no problems whatsover. In fact, it was the best bedding we've ever foaled down on - and we've used straw and paper beforehand. As for the office, always helpful and was desperate this week for bedding and rather than wait another week, they couriered a pallet to me immediately.

We also use Cushion Bed.... you may be a bit shocked when you first set eyes on it as we were all wondering if it would "dig in" to the horse when they lay down etc..... but it doesn't!! AS others have said, its very economical, doesn't move under foot and is really good value for money - I now wouldn't want to return to soft shavings!
