Hello, I am currently in the process of buying a custom dressage and jump saddle as I do eventing. I have the option of all kinds of blocks, fixed to the outside, underneath, or Velcro. Right now I am leaning towards a small Velcro block underneath up front, and a small block fixed to the outside at the back. I know sometimes blocks do more harm than good, but I also like the idea of the small block behind my leg for when my horse decides a 2' fence looks 5' and my lower leg flies behind me as he jumps towards the sky. Though I've also read they can get in the way when jumping banks and you need your lower leg further back. I want this saddle to last my horse's career so I don't want to have any regrets. Any opinions, experiences are welcome!

Definitely second the velcro idea- when I bought my saddle I had a couple of different sized blocks with it to give me some choice according to what I'm doing. It's also got a very small thigh roll under the flap, I've never noticed it in my way, banks and all, but I've never noticed it being helpful either, so that's probably not much help to you I guess!
