I have a coming 6 year old Friesian cross I am looking into custom saddles for, I do eventing so I want a jump and dressage saddle. He is short backed and round but does have withers so he's difficult to fit. I'm 5'5" and fairly petite, and I haven't found anything remotely close to a fit for both of us used, so I think custom will be our best bet. I've looked into dozens upon dozens of brands and currently I'm between Duett, Chunkey monkey, zaldi, or heritage. They all seem to have plenty of customizable options as well as claims to fit wider horses, and their price points don't hurt either. I live in the USA though, so going off wither tracings and photos is kind of scary for such a large purchase. Just wondering if anyone has experience with these brands and what they may suggest? I'm also planning to work with a fitter, but have had a nightmare of a time getting one to come out or even respond to inquiry's. Thanks!
