Horse has a cut frog right in the cleft which is bleeding. I have washed and bathed in hibiscrub, and have left him in as not sure how to proceed. He is not a fan of being in and I have had to bring his companion in too who is also not a fan !
He has thrush in that foot(which I have been treating) and I think he has cut it on a flint.
Whats the best thing to do, should I poultice it,or bandage could I get a boot so he could go out? As hes got thrush will covering it make it worse? Any advice welcome. Hes not lame.

Get a tub/bucket of warm water and puts loads of salt in, get your horse to put his foot in and stand for as long as he will, eating a haynet? This will help draw out any infection and really clean the wound. We had this with one of our horses a few years ago. Vet advised to do at least 3 times a day. She had to stay in for a week to make sure it was ok, she had anti biotics too just in case. No bandaging or poulticing. It worked and she was fine.

Thanks izzwizz, I have puta poultice on after advice 0n The Tack Room. I hope I dont have to keep him in for a week! His field friend is also in and she certainly wont be amused !
I did soak with salty water too. Im going to worry about him all night, hate having anything wrong with horses.
