My horse has a cut in the corner of his mouth where the bit lies - teeth have been checked. His bit is a good fit.
This seems to be an ongoing problem - I have tried riding in a hackamore but he hates it.
He seems to like his bit (french link eggbut snaffle) and has a very foamy mouth when ridden, very light in my hands so no need to pull or be heavy etc.
I have been applying Prep H cream as suggested on here and vaseline before and after rides, but the cut is still there.
My dentist suggested squirting hydrogen peroxide on it - but won't that hurt!!!!!
Any other suggestions? It doesn't seem to bother him too much, but surely it must be sore.
He had 3 weeks off to let it heal but as soon as the bit went back in his mouth - it cut again.
