My young cob has managed to cut his back leg in the field.Just wondering if it looks bad enough that i would have to get the vet.I have just been cold hosing it and keeping it dry.Should i just keep doing what im doing or could i put purple spray or sudocrem on it? No pain/lameness/swelling.Should i cover it? Can he still be out in the field?

No, I wouldn't get the Vet unless he was lame or it looked like it was infected.

Personally I rate Equiaid, or sterile gel and wound powder. I wouldn't put Sudocrem on it until it had healed a bit more.

Looks clean to me :) I usually use wound powder and stock tar on wounds like this and sudocream when there is no proud flesh.

Looking good. No need to call the vet for that one. Be aware that Wound Powder is notorious for causing proud flesh.

Wash with saline and then press some salt grains on it. Disinfects and keeps flies off it.
