Been thinking about pupping Malta so that i can have a pup and keep her temperament going, but i dont know if 8yrs is to old? is there a age cut off? shes a staffy x lab

Any one know?

Thank you

Yep, it is absolutely far too old, sorry!
If you want a pup maybe check out a rescue, there are far too many dogs, especially cross breeds, out there already without breeding more x

I think the KC (not that I am a huge fan of theirs) breeding limit for registering puppies is seven, if that makes any more sense. I personally would not breed from anything aged over six. And if you use the x7 rule it would make her 56 in human years, so not really fair on her at the end of the day.

Also as she is half lab, you don't know if there might be any hip or elbow dysplasia in the lines, you wouldn't want that on your conscience.

I think the recommended maximum age for a first litter is 5, and as CC says the KC have a limit of 7 for registering pups, so yes I'm afraid 8 is too old.
