If you guys were not happy at a yard would you stay because you felt the need to prove a point or cut your losses and go.
Most of the people there are nice but there' a couple who are completely deranged and nasty!
would you stay if you felt like no longer going up the yard or think it was time for a change?

i'd change, life's too short!

from what i've seen, 'proving a point' to people never works - the people in question will never turn around and say 'oh you were right'. screw them!... move and be happy!

I'd rather cut my losses, find a decent yard with decent people and know that I'm 10x happier than the deluded, nasty people.

No sense making myself unhappy and unable to enjoy my expensive hobby, just to make a point.

I'd move. Our hobby is expensive, we spend a lot of time at the yard - and we need to enjoy our time there.

It doesn't matter how perfect the place is - if you're not happy, move.

Go!

Whatever point you are trying to prove simply isn't worth it if you are unhappy there. A move could turn out to be the best thing you have ever done.

I would move yards if you think you cant ignore the nasty people, but then also beware these types of people get everywhere. Even on the smallest yard I know there is one woman who doesnt speak to another for no particular reason :-s

If the yard was lovely and most of the people were fab then I would stay.
If you get the sinking feeling in your stomach every time you go to the yard because of the nut jobs then move. Life really is too short.

I think you're right. Time for a change as it is taking the enjoyment out of it for me and i'm starting to find it a chore, let the search begin so my boy and i can get back to enjoying our times out together. thanks x

As others have said, our hobby is expensive and time consuming, so therefore we should be enjoying it! Find sonewhere else and leave the lunatics behind!

move, if you get to the point you don't even wanna go up there I've moved before now because yard I was on was like that!

I would definitely move, I absolutely hate confrontation and would rather just leave quietly. I have only ever once been in that position and when I moved it felt like a weight had lifted :) I was worried if I said something to the person then she would retaliate and I didn't trust her not to do something horrible to my horse  :(

I just wanted to write, it is now a month since i put this post up and i left the yard and am now very much in love with my hobby again and soo very pleased to be off the yard. A weight has been lifted and i am now a happy horsey person again. Thankyou for all your advice xx:)
