My youngster caught himself whilst loose jumping and has a cut on his pastern. Was cleaned up etc and was fine. He then came in lame the next day. Not severely but noticeable. There was a small amount of swelling around the cut. He got better and better every day and was almost sound. We decided to get the vet to have a look and she wasn’t overly worried and didn’t think the area needed scanned/x ray at this stage and he just needed more time. The complication is he (was) sold pending a vetting ? I’ve explained to the buyer what has happened and agreed we will push the vetting back, but I’m not sure how long he will need. Has anyone had anything similar?
