Cut paw pad

Our poor Golden came back from a swim in the river yesterday with a small cut on a hind pad. A fair bit of blood initially, but we cleaned it up and bandaged it. I've changed the bandage today and it looks clean, but he's constantly trying to lick and chew the bandage, so I've put a layer of tape over to waterproof it somewhat. We don't feel it warrants a vet visit at the moment, but interested to know how others have treated this? There seems to be a mix of opinions on bandaging.
We're thinking a bandage for a couple of days, then a boot for when he's outdoors. Thoughts?

You might have to resort to a buster collar when he’s indoors so the injured pad can be exposed to the air to accelerate healing. Twice daily saline soaks and intrasite gel would be my go to.

From my experience, pads heal pretty quickly.

Agree with above, buster collar to stop him fussing it. Keep it uncovered as much as possible to dry out.

I personally just pop a bit of purple spray on and then leave alone.
