My old pony was cut late though (age 7 then but now 18) and he doesn't have any crestiness? Sometimes he still thinks he's a stallion but otherwise you would never know
Depends but most likely. Kiwi was done at 4 and is now 12 with the most unbelievable crest. The riding club breeding stallions are cut late afterwards to continue ridden work. I know three and they are all cresty still.
We had our old pony cut at 10 or 11, he came to us as an entire driving pony to be sold, our kids were riding and driving him, but we thought he would be easier to sell gelded, so we did, then my OH bought him for his daughter!
He is still quite cresty but he is a Sec D, although he is a runt at just on 13hh!
He is the loveliest pony ever and so cute. We have now sold him to friends for their children to love and enjoy him!
