Poor Piggy sounds so defeated in her latest update on her Instagram. I know the exhaustion is probably playing havoc with her emotions at the moment.
I hope seeing the people supporting tomorrow will give them a boost.

No word yet on whether Ian will get back on the bike, but I can’t see how he can. You need a good grip of the handlebars and to be able to freely operate the gears. Plus it would be bleddy painful.

I hope that sense will prevail and that he sits the rest of it out, he can cheer them on from the sidelines. He’s ridden much the majority of the route.
🤣🤣🤣 Sense and Ian don’t really go together. He’s the toughest and most stubborn person I’ve ever met, and he’s no stranger to injury.

Sounds so broken - I hope the sun shines on them tomorrow

Sad to hear her say about the issues with drivers etc all the way along too though sadly not surprised.

Their core strengths of steel will definitely have been helping but its like everything once you're tired road bikes seem a hell of a lot more twitchy, hope Ian is doing as well as can.

This is poor Piggy at the end of today. She’s hating it.

The donations are just not coming in. Currently standing at:-

£165,910.00 +£22,560.78 Gift Aid raised by 34 fundraisers

which considering the very high profile participants is very measly. Though it simply doesn’t seem to be well publicised or taken up by the eventing crowd 🤷‍♀️.

Such a shame they aren’t getting more money. Especially from the horse community but if I didn’t follow the eventing community I’m not sure I’d know about it.

Disgusting that they’ve had snowballs thrown at them and road rage.

Piggy really does sound absolutely fed up.

Being a BE Member and totally into eventing, I am surprised so many people don’t know about this epic journey in horrendous weather. Posts are coming up constantly in my Newsfeed on Facebook with many many of the top eventers writing posts and also regular updates from British Eventing. Obviously it just isn’t getting out to the general public and general horsey people who understand the risks of riding. I would have expected everyone who posts on HHO to know about it, but obviously not! ☹️

What a shame people aren’t donating. Agree it doesn’t seem to be coming up much, I follow Piggy on FB and only just saw something yesterday. Donated. @Michen think a tack room thread is a good idea

I’ve only just found out about it and was surprised that the info for donating doesn’t seem to have been publicised much to the general public. I will now search and donate

Just donated, Pig was such a ray of light when I first bought Yogi and took him to live at Blackwater, hope today goes well for them and the supporters give them some much needed encouragement

This is Ian today in the black, isn’t it?

Looks pretty battered judging by his puffy eyes 😬, and the left brake lever positioning appears to have been altered presumably to accomodate his damaged hand.

Cycling in London is pretty full on, I hope that they all make it safely to the Savoy.

They’ve included Richmond Park in their route, and from Battersea to the Savoy are cycling along the river to avoid the worst central bits, sensibly!

Yes to Scotty too. Zara, Tina and WFP are with them too

I’ve already donated but will add a bit more. But I think they have raised a significant amount -£ 166,000 according to the thread. And I’m sure they will get a fair bit more in the end. They should be very proud of themselves and I hope they feel more positive after some rest.

Now £188k

Not sure exactly who the 34 fundraisers are or how funds get attributed to one or other of them. I just followed the link from the home page and hit the donate button.
X

I donated this morning, hopefully they will pick up lots of funds on the final day! Sounds incredibly tough, they should be so proud of what they've achieved.

I didn’t know anything at all about it, I’ve seen nothing on fb and I follow Burghley and Badminton, even though I’m not hugely into eventing. I only know about it now as I randomly opened this thread.
It’s been very poorly advertised.

what a team! I hope they are incredibly proud of themselves, what an amazing job they have done in all kinds of weather. Hope they enjoy themselves at the ball tonight!

Clodagh, you say you follow Badminton and Burghley. What does this mean? Do you follow , ie LIKE their Facebook pages? If you put either into the Search of Facebook, they both are showing innumerable posts following this cycle ride. This also goes for British Eventing page and any top eventers rider you can think of. Just click in William Fox Pitt and there you go.
I do agree it just hasn’t reached so many people in other sections of horse sports. Such a pity. It’s been a marathon week!

Tbf you can follow a page on facebook without having to like it. The fb algorithms aren't great these days - I've only seen the Cylce4Caroline posts on Instragram, not on my fb timeline for example, unless I've specifically searched for them.

Yes I have followed, as in liked both their pages. For the first time today I got a post about it, from Fox-Pitt eventing, who I also follow.

Posted on the other thread too, but thought I’d add in here,

Race safe are selling hat silks in support!
