Anyone know about the different types of wheels being used in the cycling. Some both solid looking black wheels, others with just a solid back wheel. What do they do ?

Anyone know about the different types of wheels being used in the cycling. Some both solid looking black wheels, others with just a solid back wheel. What do they do ?

Solid wheels make the bike more aerodynamic. Spokes create turbulence in the air flowing around the bike and rider. In events where the cyclist needs to move around the track they use one wheel with spokes (3 or 5) to increase maneuverability.

And i think some of the disciplines only allows one wheel to be solid, not both
