Cyprium bit tarnishing - is this normal?

Recently purchased a cyprium 90 bit but it is showing signs of tarnishing - looks like darker coloured spots on the metal

Is this normal? Is there any way to clean it up? Horse does mouth well in this bit so would like to continue with it!
 
I have a cyprium bit and had it for a few yrs,well tarnished with divets etc,lol,still works as well as it did when new,just dosnt look as pretty

Bit of a bummer though - they look so nice when they are all shiny and gold!

They look fab when you take them out the packet,lol,my lad to goes bloody well in it,but it looks nothing like it did 2yrs ago,but it still as affective
