Hi
Does anyone know of any D.I.Y livery in Herefordshire?
I currently keep my 2 horses and 1 shetland on some land with stables, but I just pay as a whole which works out cheaper.
I am looking for a new place as there is just nowhere to ride (main roads!) and I have no school and the ground is too hard to ride on.
I need somewhere reasonably priced as I have 3 (I know this is what everyone wants!)
I used to be at a yard where you get a discount for multiple horses and the shetland was practicaly free, but alot of yards want to charge full price for a minature shetland when he needs no grass and no stable.
Please can anyone help me if they know of somewhere reasonable?
I would happily consider a 'help in return for livery' option or open to suggestions...
Just want to find the right place for my horses
Thanks

Whereabouts in Herefordshire? I know a few in the Leominster area? There's also Tack Farm in Ullingswick great facilities and great hacking.

HI! I live actualy in Hereford so not too fussed which area.
I do love woolhope/fownhope/checkley but there is only one yard i know of there and it is too expensive with my 3. I just want somewhere with nice riding and/or a school.
My friend is at tack farm, which is lovely, but again, too expensive.

you could try Hope Springs Farm at Mordiford, or Joe Brandt at Woolhope or Rudge Farm at Woolhope, or Caplor Farm at Fownhope. I'm not sure if any of them have a school but the hacking round Haugh Woods is close to all four.

hi ive tried hope springs but the man did not get back to me after i went to see him!
ive enquired about one of the liverys at woolhope, not sure which one, but the one i rang was too expensive for my 3. do you have numbers for them? have not tried the one at fownhope. thanks

Lyde has got a livery yard with school and good hacking, i think it will most likey be too expensive with 3 and they might not hav any room but worth a try if you wanted their number i could get it for you? Also give Holme Lacy college a call. They do livery there which is expensive but they will know most of the local yards.

Joe Brandt owns acer tree services - i think its the same telephone number. Caplor Farm dont advertise as a livery yard but they definitely do do livery. Gareth Williams is the farm owner. He's on the parish council so should be quite easy to find. Rudge Farm is on the main Woolhope Road. No idea of telephone no or owners but its easy to find and you can see the stables etc from the road. Hope that helps.

There's also a place in lugwardine that advertises on hereford equestrian for livery from £50 a month.

Holme lacy college are desperate for horses to go on working livery as all their horses have gone back to owners for summer and we have nothing to ride.

I used to be at that yard at lugwardine! lol
i think joe brandts yard is the one i enquired about, i found the number she is on hereford equestrian right at the bottom. i have emailed about caplor farm and she is going to get back to me, so thats good. is rudge farm on the right as u go into woolhope? if so, i know where is it and could go and see them. if anyone is reading this and knows the number, that would be gr8, thanks!
thankyou every1 x

im pretty sure you get to go see/ride him when you like.

Cant understand why more people arent keen on it, all your livery paid and horse worked. but i do see that with loads of different people on them you never know what could happen.

yes that wud help alot, all his upkeep being paid for. hes just not the right type for that kind of thing. hes been tried in a riding school but is just too sensitive and he was at hartpury for the students but hes more of a one on one horse.
and my other horse is retired and 23 so he would not be suitable either lol

If you take the road from Fownhope to Woolhope, past Rudge End Farm, then Rudge Farm is on your left hand side, just after the entrance into the woods. THe farm house is set well back from the road but you can see the field shelters and the stables. I think the owners name is Price.

not even sure where rudge end farm is? cant remember a farm down there. definitley know where the turning is from fownhope to woolhope tho so maybe i will take a drive down there
thanks
